Director Cha Jung-yoon, recognized for his delicate directing that thoughtfully captures the lives of those ostracized by society, realistically captures the lives of uniformed civil servants, particularly correctional officers, and the families of inmates in this film. Through a narrative where strangers become like rays of sunshine, he warmly addresses social discourses such as the lack of care and the nature of good adults, offering his own unique solutions.
These efforts bore fruit, earning the film an invitation to the Korean Cinema section of the 26th Jeonju International Film Festival this year. It also received rave reviews from audiences and critics, winning the National Cineteca Mexico Release Support Award. At press screenings and VIP screenings on September 26th, the film garnered praise, garnering praise such as "a rich emotional flow without over-the-top persuasion" and "a heartwarming, understated touch," further fueling word-of-mouth even before its release.
